Work with personas

Read, add, and generate the personas of your project, and see how they steer prompts and keywords.

A persona describes a type of customer of your brand. GripIQ uses personas to make prompts and keywords match the questions those customers actually ask, and as audience context for the weekly insights.

Open the Personas page

Select Settings in the navigation rail.
Open the Personas tab.

The heading All personas shows the count. If the project has none, you see “No personas yet”.

Each card shows the persona’s picture or initial, name, a short bio, an age-range badge, a gender badge, and the number of linked prompts.

Read a persona

Select a card to open its detail. It contains:

The picture, the name, and the bio.
The age range, the gender, and how many prompts are linked to this persona (for example “3 linked prompts”).
Intent: — what this person is trying to achieve.
Demographics: — marital status, education level, and employment status.
Psychographics: — social grade and life stage.

Add a persona

You need the Team Admin or Team Member role to add personas. Every persona counts against the persona quota of your plan; see Plans.

On the Personas tab, select Add persona.
Enter a Name. It is the only required field, and it must be unique within the project.
Optionally fill in Bio and Intent.
Optionally choose an Age range, Gender, Marital status, Education level, Employment status, Social grade, and Life stage. Leave a field on Not specified to skip it.
Select Add.

Result: the message “Persona … added.” appears and the persona is in the list.

Generate personas with AI

You need the Team Admin or Team Member role. GripIQ proposes personas based on your project’s brands, goals, and markets.

On the Personas tab, select Generate with AI.
Optionally describe the persona you want in Describe the persona you want (up to 255 characters).
Choose the Number of personas: up to 5 per run, and never more than your plan has room for.
Select Generate.

Result: the message “Personas are being generated in the background and will appear here shortly.” appears. The new personas show up in the list when they are ready.

When your plan has no personas left, Add persona and Generate with AI are unavailable. Hover over the button to see how many personas you have used and how many are still available.

How personas are used

Smart generate on the Prompts tab of Prompts lets you pick one persona (or “All personas”) before generating prompts. The persona’s name, bio, intent, and demographics are sent along as context, and the new prompts are linked to that persona. See Generate prompt suggestions.
A keyword can be linked to one persona. Prompts can be linked to several.
You can filter by Personas on the Prompts tab of Prompts and on the Keywords tab of Keywords.
The weekly insight generation reads every persona of the project — name, bio, intent, and demographics — as audience context, so personas also shape the recommendations you get on the Insights page. See Insights.

Change or remove a persona

You cannot edit or delete a persona in the app. Ask your account manager — contact them via Settings → Subscription. Without the role to add personas, you see the notice “Your personas are currently managed by GripIQ. Contact your account manager”.
