How to use GripIQ with a keyboard or a screen reader, and what assistive technology reads on each page.
GripIQ can be operated entirely with a keyboard and read with a screen reader. This page lists what that support covers, so you know what to expect before you start.
Keyboard
Section titled “Keyboard”| What | How it works |
|---|---|
| Move through a page | Tab moves forward, Shift+Tab moves back. Every control you land on shows a visible focus ring. |
| Skip the navigation | Skip to content is the first thing Tab reaches on any page. Activate it to jump past the project switcher, the navigation rail, and the sub-header, straight to the page content. |
| Activate a control | Enter or Space on buttons and links. |
| Vote on an insight | The thumbs up and thumbs down buttons in the insight detail are in the tab order and can be activated from the keyboard. |
| Wide tables | Tables that are wider than their card scroll sideways inside the card, so the page itself never shifts. |
Screen readers
Section titled “Screen readers”- Form errors are announced. When a form is refused, the error is read out and is tied to the field it belongs to, so tabbing back to that field repeats the message with it. This covers signing in, registering, resetting a password, completing your profile, the Account settings page, onboarding, the Contact us form, tags, and Smart generate.
- Charts have a text alternative. The line, doughnut, and stacked bar charts on the overview pages carry a description, so the page is not silent where the chart is the main content. Small trend lines next to a number are decorative and are skipped.
- Icon-only buttons have names. Row actions such as deleting a keyword, and editing or deleting a tag, announce what they do rather than being read as an unlabelled button.
- Loading placeholders are skipped. The grey blocks shown while a section loads, and the icons in empty-state cards, are hidden from assistive technology.
Reporting a problem
Section titled “Reporting a problem”If something is unreachable by keyboard or unclear in a screen reader, send it through Contact with the subject Technical issue or bug — see Your account. Include the page, the control, and the assistive technology you use.
