How-to

Read the Web overview

Filter the Web overview and read its publishing activity, stat bar, page count chart, change cadence, and change table.

The Web overview shows what changed on the websites of your brands in one period: how many pages were added, removed, or modified, by whom, and when.

  1. Open Web in the navigation rail. The page opens on Overview.
  2. Open the period dropdown and choose a period: Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last 6 months, Last year, All time, or Custom to pick your own dates. The default is Last 30 days.
  3. Open the brand dropdown (it reads All brands by default) and select the brands you want to see.
  4. Open the Category dropdown and select one or more content categories. A change whose summary is still being written has no category yet, so it is left out while a category is selected.
  5. To go back to the defaults, click Clear all. The button only appears when a filter is set.

At the end of the filter bar you see when the data was last collected (“Data as of …”, or Awaiting first scan before the first scan) and when the next scan runs.

The top block, Publishing activity, shows the number of website changes in the period. A badge next to the number shows how much it moved against the previous period of the same length; it is left out when there is nothing to compare with, for example under All time.

Below the number, one sentence reads out the period. It names the brand that added the most pages and compares it with the median of all tracked brands, for example “Brand added 120 pages, against a tracked-set median of 15, most often tagged Offerings.” When no website added a page, the sentence says so.

The block also holds:

  • Content mix — the share of each content category among the changes in the period, largest first. One change can carry several categories, so the shares add up across tags.
  • Most active — up to five brands ranked by pages added, each with a bar relative to the busiest brand. Your own brand carries an Own badge. A brand that added nothing keeps its row at zero. Click All brands to open your brands.

Click See what changed to jump to the change table.

The first sitemap snapshot of a newly followed website counts every page as added, so it is not counted in the publishing activity, the stat bar, or the content mix. It does appear in the change table.

The stat bar below the block has four cells:

Cell What it shows
Pages added Pages added across all changes in the period, with the movement against the previous period and the number of brands that added pages
Pages removed Pages removed, with the same movement and brand count
Pages modified Pages modified, with the same movement and brand count
Brands crawling How many of the brands have at least one website that is being checked, for example “3 of 4”. When a brand’s sitemap fails, the cell names it (“Brand sitemap failing”); ask your account manager to check that website

Page count shows the number of pages in each brand’s sitemap over the period, one line per brand. A website’s count holds from one snapshot until the next, so a flat line means nothing changed. A brand has no point on days before its first snapshot. The Category filter does not apply to this chart.

Change cadence shows website changes per brand per week as a grid: one row per brand, one cell per week. A darker cell means more changes in that week; all cells share one scale, so you can compare rows by eye. Hover over a cell to see the week and the number of changes. The grid shows at most the last eight weeks of the period.

Website changes lists every change in the period, newest first. The subtitle shows how many changes there are. More rows load as you scroll.

Column What it shows
Brand The brand whose website changed
What changed The summary of the change. It reads “Summary is still being written.” until the summary is ready
Categories The content categories of the change (on wide screens only)
+ / − / ~ Pages added (green), removed (red), and modified
Detected How long ago the change was found

Click the summary in What changed to open the change page with the full lists of added, removed, and modified pages. See Read a website change.

When the period has no changes, the table reads “No website changes in this period”. If the first scan has not run yet, you see “First scan pending” with the time of the next scan instead.
