Social monitor

Follow the social accounts of your brands and your competitors, and compare what their posts achieve.

The Social Monitor follows the social accounts of the brands in your project — your own and your competitors’ — and collects their public posts so you can compare output and engagement side by side.

Open Social Monitor in the sidebar. It is a single page with filters, KPI cards, charts, and a post feed.

Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.

Accounts are found automatically from a brand’s website: GripIQ reads the site and picks up the links to its social profiles. Your account manager can also add an account by hand. See Add or change social accounts.

Posts are collected on your project’s scan schedule: daily, weekly, monthly, or disabled. Each run looks back about one week, so nothing is missed between two runs on a weekly schedule.

Every post that is collected is analysed automatically. GripIQ records the sentiment, the content pillar, the tone, the readability, the call-to-action type, the hashtags and mentions, and which brands the text names. See Text analysis in the glossary.

Reactions differ per platform, so GripIQ combines them into one engagement score:

likes + (3 × comments) + (5 × shares) + (0.1 × views)

Comments and shares weigh more than likes because they take more effort. The score is what every engagement figure on the page is built from.

  • Total posts — how many posts all monitored brands published in the period.
  • Total engagement — the combined engagement across those posts.
  • Social Share of Voice — your own brand’s share of the total social engagement.
  • Avg engagement/post — the average engagement a single post receives.

Each card also compares the period with the one before it.
